Cross Country Teams Clinch State Titles

Westminster's boys and girls cross country teams claimed the Class 3A state titles on Saturday, November 4.

With 50 points and an average course time of 17:21, the boys cross country team captured the championship. The team—coached by Joe Tribble—was led by three top-ten finishers: Will Wallace '19, Peter Huff '19, and Zach Roe '20. In fact, all seven Wildcat runners finished in the top 30. The 2017 title is the team's 26th state championship and first since 2013.

The girls cross country squad successfully defended their 2016 state title and clinched their 30th state championship. It is the team's 22nd state title under the guidance of Head Coach Amy Eubanks.

The Sisterhood had five runners—Naima Turbes '19, Delaney Graham '18, Bronte Bachetta '18, Olivia Tordella '20, and Katherine Vuckovic '20—in the top ten. With an average course time of 20:31, the Cats finished with just 25 points.
