From the President

Welcome to The Westminster Schools, where each day our students and teachers come together for the joy of discovering, sharing, and growing together. For over 50 years, Westminster has committed itself to the highest standards of education, seeking, in the words of our mission statement, “to develop the whole person for college and for life through excellent education.” Our aspirations are ambitious:  to concern ourselves with the whole person and not just the academician, to pursue preparation for life and not just for college, and to commit to true excellence in a world where that word is often used all too casually.

The “whole person” is a well-rounded individual, and Westminster presents a comprehensive range of programs for cultivating each student’s God-given talents. A “whole person” is also a healthy person, possessed of the confidence and resilience necessary to take on a challenging world. Westminster teachers are more than academic experts; they serve as cheerleaders, coaches, advisors, and inspirational mentors.

A preparation “for life” includes not only the academic skills necessary for success in the challenging collegiate and post-graduate programs our students aspire to, but also the values and habits that inform successful and happy adult lives, especially a commitment to faith, integrity, and service.

In all we undertake here at Westminster, we strive to do our very best, to pursue true excellence. The expectations for students and teachers alike are high, for we recognize and celebrate the precious opportunities God has given us, especially the opportunity to love one another, as modeled in Christ’s love for the world and all of God’s children.

Again, welcome to Westminster. I hope that our website provides ample information about our school, but I also hope that you will visit us in person. I look forward to meeting you then.
