Technology

The Westminster Schools is committed to providing the best technology resources and solutions in support of the schools mission. The Technology department is responsible for monitoring the technology needs of the school, evaluating new and emerging technologies, providing resources necessary to enhance communication  for all members of the school community. The Technology Department is also responsible for supporting the relevant professional development as it pertains to the integration of technology in the classroom, while maintaining equipment necessary to support the academic and administrative needs of the school.

Technology at Westminster
Every classroom is outfitted with a digital projector, SMART Board, VCR/DVD player, sound system, IP telephone, and at least one computer.

Starting in grade 5, students are provided e-mail accounts to enhance communication with their teachers, as well as access to the Westminster Wildcat Web Portal.

Elementary School

  • Every classroom has between 3-5 student computers
  • 2 state of the art fixed computer labs
  • 3 mobile laptop labs with carts
  • Technology driven library system
  • 2 MIDI labs
  • 3 dedicated technology specialists for instruction and professional development

Junior High School

  • 2 state of the art fixed computer labs
  • 1 computer writing lab
  • 2 mobile tablet labs with cart
  • 6 touch screen displays with discrete sound system
  • 1 digital video wall with enhanced sound

High School

  • 3 state of the art fixed computer labs
  • 1 digital MIDI lab
  • 1 video editing lab
  • 1 digital language lab
  • 1 mobile laptop lab

Other

  • Wireless access is available throughout the entire campus.
  • Faculty are given tablet computers to use for academic work.
  • Westminster is a SMART showcase school because of the school's use of modern teaching tools.
  • Three classroom sets of student response systems are available for sign-out.
  • The campus-wide network is IP based, (voice and video over IP) with fiber optic connections between buildings.
  • Westminster has a state of the art network data center with over 9 terabytes of online storage.
  • Digital paging system is available in all interior and exterior buildings.
