High School
The High School is composed of 777 students and 100 faculty on a spacious campus with neo-classical architecture. A world-class faculty helps each student discover his or her gifts through rigorous academics and a richly diverse extracurricular program.
Robinson Hall, with its 14 state-of-the-art laboratories, provides ample space for students to study an innovative science curriculum. Askew and Campbell Halls house the English, History, Mathematics, Modern and Classical Languages, and Bible Departments. Pressly Hall is home to the digital music lab, a computerized language lab, a video editing studio, the magnificent Carlyle Fraser Library, administrative offices, choral practice areas, McCain Chapel, and the Malone Dining Hall. Broyles Arts Center contains studios for the fine arts, music practice rooms, and Kellett Theatre. Turner Gymnasium - with the performance gym, 10-lane competition pool, fitness center, practice gym, wrestling gym, climbing wall, and squash courts - completes the High School portion of the campus.
To foster a strong sense of belonging, each of the four grades claims one of the academic buildings as a home base through the High School years. In turn, each grade is broken into smaller advisee groups that remain together through the end of the junior year. Advisor group and grade-level identities are reinforced during various activities throughout the year, such as Homecoming in the fall. Lifelong friendships are also forged in extracurricular activities, such as athletics, performing arts, debate, service, and club activities. Daily life emphasizes wholesome interactions between every member of the community, where honor, kindness, and wellness are regular components of all we do together.
