PUT HIM IN, COACH - A MOTHER'S ALL-STAR MEMOIR:

Is a new non-fiction book by Martha Payne, ’78, published July 2007. Neurotic parents, rabid coaches, and piles of infield dirt pervade this entertaining memoir of a mother and son's tumultuous journey through the Little League years. A must-read for any parent who's ever fretted over his child's performance - on the playing field or in the game of life. 

Not Just Another Day At The Office:

Two Westminster alumni, Brian Baumgartner ’91 and Ed Helms ’92, are currently cast members of the Emmy award-winning comedy, The Office.  Brian, who was a founding cast member of The Office, and Ed, who was among the cast of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show before joining The Office, can be seen on NBC each Thursday night. 

Laurie Dhue At Large:

Laurie Dhue ‘86, Fox News Network Anchor, is the weekend host of The Fox Report at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday, as well as a reporter with Geraldo At Large. Every Thursday night, she has a segment, The Dhue Point, on the Bill O'Reilly Show.

Getting Clark Smart:

Clark Howard ’73, consumer advocate, shares his wisdom as a newspaper columnist for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, a TV reporter for WSB Channel 2 Action News (Consumer Reports segments), a radio talk show host, (The Clark Howard Show) and a best-selling author. His books include Clark Smart Parents, Clark Smart Kids, Clark’s Big Book of Bargains, and Get Clark Smart: The Ultimate Guide to Getting Rich from America’s Money-Saving Expert.

Small Surrenders:

Dorothy “Dottie” Houser ’69 has recently published a novel entitled Small Surrenders, a story focused on University of Virginia nursing student Porter Miller and the rippling effects of moral turpitude.  It is a heart-warming story of faith, forgiveness, and survival.

And the Tony Goes to . . .:

Shuler Hensley '85, who won a Tony for his performance as Jud in Oklahoma!, will play the starring role of the Monster in Mel Brooks' upcoming Broadway musical Young Frankenstein.
