Strength & Conditioning

Westminster’s strength and conditioning program is a key element to the success of Westminster’s Athletics Department.  In the weight room or on the track or field, Westminster students gain valuable education while preparing for competition and fitness for life.

The program, staffed by two certified full-time strength coaches, is open all Westminster students in grades 7 through 12. In-season athletes can work in the weight room with their team. Other students can work individually or in groups. Programs, which can be tailored to meet the individual needs of each athlete, focus on strength and muscle development, speed and agility, flexibility, and injury prevention.

Westminster has some of the finest high school strength and conditioning facilities in the U.S.  The weight room includes a state-of-the-art stereo system with surround sound acoustics. The center of the room has been left open in order to give athletes an area in which to perform dynamic warm-up and agility exercises.

The weight room houses over 40 machines and 24 pieces of cardiovascular equipment, including:
Half racks with Olympic platforms: 9
