Below are links to websites and other resources that teachers might find useful in their development of curriculum, research into teaching methods, learning styles, or the learning process, and examination of issues in education. The list below will be updated periodically.
Annenberg Media: “Annenberg Media uses media and telecommunications to advance excellent teaching in American schools. This mandate is carried out chiefly by the funding and broad distribution of educational video programs with coordinated Web and print materials for the professional development of K-12 teachers.” They sponsor on-line courses and workshops for teachers from all disciplines and at all levels. Teachers can apply for graduate credit for completing these professional development opportunities. There is also a wealth of media recourses to help teachers in their curriculum planning.

PBS Resources for Teachers: “PBS Teachers is PBS' national web destination for high-quality preK-12 educational resources. Here you'll find classroom materials suitable for a wide range of subjects and grade levels. We provide thousands of lesson plans, teaching activities, on-demand video assets, and interactive games and simulations. These resources are correlated to state and national educational standards and are tied to PBS' award-winning on-air and online programming like NOVA, Nature, Cyberchase, Between the Lions and more.” They will have lists of local resources and programming, as well as resources for professional development in all the disciplines.

Federal Resources for Educational Excellence: This is an interesting site for teachers to get free educational materials in all the subject areas. It is not divided by grade, but there is a subject index. Films, maps, books, curriculum ideas, and a variety of other resources are available for use in the classroom.
