Parent contributions are valued at Westminster and there are many places to serve. From the earliest years, helping shepherd children during special activities in the Lower School, to brainstorming the just-right final send off for the senior class, volunteers enrich the Westminster experience.
The Lower School Parents Council holds a monthly coffee, which all Lower School parents are encouraged to attend for the latest updates on what’s happening in Love Hall. Parents in the Lower School serve in a variety of capacities – as room representatives, book fair helpers, community services liaisons and much more.
PAWS is the Parents Association of Westminster. Every parent of a Westminster student is a member. PAWS leaders oversee school wide events including the Pigskin Picnic, sponsor special speakers and are a key communication vehicle between the school and home. School administrators are featured at their meetings to update parents on new initiatives and campus happenings.
Catbackers is Westminster’s parent support organization for athletics. Their primary responsibilities are communicating the latest sports news, building school spirit and fund raising. A Steering Committee of 40 Westminster parents manages the business and operations of the organization. Each member of the Steering Committee serves a two-year term.
There are also many opportunities to support a particular activity or area of the school. Teams of library volunteers help keep the shelves in order and books covered in all three divisions. The “drama mamas” help furnish costumes and props for the Theatre Department. Whether your child’s interest is robotics, debate or cheerleading, your willingness to volunteer will be welcomed and appreciated.
