Amy Eubanks Named Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year
Coach Amy Eubanks has been named the national 2017 Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year.
The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) recently announced Amy Eubanks as its 2017 Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year.
“Coach Eubanks has amassed an incredible record of 21 state championships in her 26 years as a head coach," said Eric Hess, executive director of the NHSCA. "That coupled with her commitment to excellence for her student-athletes makes her an excellent choice for our National Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year.”
In the fall, the girls cross country team won the 2016 AAA state championship. It was the 21st state championship since Amy became head coach in 1991. In 2014, she was named Georgia State Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). She was the Georgia Athletics Coaches Association State Coach of the Year for 13 consecutive years. In 1997, Amy was the co-high school Coach of the Year for all sports given by the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
For being named the National Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year, Amy will receive a trophy and be honored in the National High School Sports Hall of Fame Museum in Easton, Pennsylvania.
