Upper School director of debate Jordana Sternberg was inducted into the prestigious Gold Key Society of the Barkley Forum of Emory University.

The award is the Barkley Forum’s most prestigious, as it recognizes the “hard work, sacrifices, and dedication” of debate coaches. Nominees from across the country are chosen by their peers and each nominee must meet ”the traditional requisites of good character, strong leadership ability, good knowledge of his or her craft” and should “reflect knowledge, decorum, and maintain the highest standard of ethics.”

The Barkley Forum, Emory University’s debate team, began hosting high school tournaments in 1956. Westminster became one of the first schools to be awarded a membership in 1963.
