Head of Lower School Selected for Leadership Atlanta Program

Leadership Atlanta chose Head of Lower School Whit McKnight as a member of its Class of 2018.

Head of Lower School Whit McKnight has been selected as one of Leadership Atlanta's Class of 2018 members.

Eighty-six community leaders were chosen to participate in the program. The leaders represent numerous fields, including education, law, corporate, religious, nonprofit, technology, media, healthcare, politics, and government.

“I feel honored to be selected as a member of Leadership Atlanta's Class of 2018 amongst such a stellar group of professionals,” Whit says. “At Westminster, we commit to developing leaders of conscience, and what better way to model this strategic priority than by fostering relationships and partnering with some of Atlanta's most inspiring leaders in order to best serve the city and our community."

During the nine-month program, the class will learn more about the region by participating in retreats, seminars, service projects, discussion groups, and community tours. In addition to exploring important regional issues, class members will critically examine themselves as leaders, challenge themselves to find ways to be more effective in their leadership roles, and build relationships of trust and mutual understanding with each other.

Leadership Atlanta is the oldest continuously running training program of its type in the country. The program strives to educate, inspire, and connect local leaders to move metro Atlanta towards unity and shared prosperity.

Other members of the class include executives from Delta Air Lines, SunTrust Bank, Coca-Cola, UPS, and Georgia Pacific, as well administrators from Emory University and Georgia Tech.
