    Upper School
    2017 Registration is Now Open
    Summer School at Westminster provides an opportunity for all middle and upper school students (rising sixth through twelfth grade) to study at one of the nation’s top college preparatory schools. Enrollment at Westminster or testing for admissions is not required to take advantage of our summer offerings.

    Westminster Summer School offers unique opportunities to:
    • Master new material
    • Gain individualized attention
    • Immerse yourself in a subject
    • Revisit and relearn challenging topics
    • Experience “learning in context” through travel, service, and hands-on experience
    Upper School (rising ninth—twelfth grade)
    We offer three types of summer courses:
    Academic Courses (for forward credit or for those needing to repeat a course of study)
    Enrichment opportunities (not for academic credit)
    Discovery (an experiential leadership education course)
    Westminster entrance requirements are waived for all summer courses and are open to the public, with the exception of Discovery courses.
    Academic and Enrichment Courses
    Academic and enrichment courses follow a two-semester format. Some courses meet for one three-week session, while others meet for both three-week sessions for a total of six weeks. Most courses offer academic credit for Westminster students. If you are not a student at Westminster, you must check with your Registrar to see if credits will transfer.
    • Session I: June 5 – June 23, 2017
    • Session II: June 26 – July 14, 2017 (No class on July 4)
    Courses are held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. unless noted otherwise in the academic course offerings list. Office hours will be available from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lunch is provided. One three-week single semester course is $1,940. Two three-week single semester courses or one six-week two-semester course is $3,570

    Discovery Courses

    Middle School (rising sixth-eighth grade)
    This program is designed to refine and hone skills necessary for academic success in various rotating subject areas. While not providing the student with academic credit, the program is open to Westminster and non-Westminster students.

    The academic four-week program is held June 5-30, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Lunch is not provided. Tuition is $2,520. Course descriptions and online registration for Middle School Summer School courses will be available by the end of April.
    The Summer School Director reserves the right to cancel any course that has insufficient enrollment and to screen and place students in classes based on the level of ability and achievement. Some courses have limited registration. Therefore, prompt completion of registration is advisable. Regular Westminster entrance requirements are waived for most Summer School classes. Books are not included in tuition. No half-credits will be given for year-long courses. Westminster accepts students without regard to race, color, creed, national, or ethnic origin.
