Capital Support

Gifts to the Annual Fund are spent in the year they are made to support the top priorities of the school.  Capital funding opportunities provide support for special or specific fundraising projects or opportunities that are outside of the operating budget.

Capital funding opportunities are for building projects or endowment initiatives.  The earnings on endowed funds are used in perpetuity to support the school’s programs and goals, though the principal is never spent.  By not spending the principal of an endowed fund, it can generate greater earning over time. 

Endowment currently provides 21 percent of the operating budget of the school.  This impressive figure illustrates the power and growth of a strong endowment and the generous support of our constituency.  Annual Fund income, on the other hand, is spent the same year it given and is used entirely in support of the operating budget of the school.
