OUR SHARED COMMITMENT

The Westminster Schools Board of Trustees has approved a multi-year campaign to secure a minimum of $100 million in gifts and pledges for the priorities of the school. Foremost among these is increased support for teacher compensation at all levels, so that Westminster can continue to attract and retain the very best teachers.

The majority of the funds sought (approximately $62 million) is for endowment, principally faculty support and student financial aid. We also seek approximately $38 million in expendable funds for current program and facility needs and opportunities. The title of our campaign, Teaching for Tomorrow, underscores Westminster’s educational mission — providing our children with the understanding, knowledge, and character traits they must possess to succeed in the future — and the school’s overarching priority over the next several years: to ensure that Westminster has the resources needed to recruit the next generation of teachers who will prepare our children for tomorrow.

We also wish to underscore the continuing challenge that Westminster faces each year — and which our annual giving programs address — to provide students and faculty with facilities and educational resources that enhance learning, promote personal growth, and encourage excellence in every endeavor that our students seek to pursue.

We are honored to help lead this effort. We are especially heartened by the early response of alumni/ae, parents, grandparents, and friends of the school. We have each made our personal commitments to this campaign, and we now ask that you join with us. We believe that this campaign offers all members of the Westminster family an opportunity to express our shared gratitude and commitment to a school that continues to touch and enrich our lives and, more important, the lives of our children, our grandchildren, and our extended community.
