Personal Information
Scoot is the Assistant Headmaster for Student Life here at Westminster, a position he has held for the past 11 years. He graduated from the Westminster Schools in 1970 (that's a LONG time ago!), attended Davidson College, and got his M.A. in History from Georgia State University. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years in West Africa, and has been teaching and coaching at a number of independent schools (mostly up North) for the last 30 years. His wife, Maggie (a fellow Peace Corps Volunteer), teaches EFM (Education for Ministry) in the evenings at Westminster, and their two sons, Philip, '99, and Ricky, '02, are Wildcat grads. Scoot teaches 7th Grade American History, the History of the Civil Rights Movement, and reads to all the first and second graders once a week. He is also head coach of the girls Varsity tennis team. Scoot is the proud owner of the school mascot, "Ref, The Wonder Dog." Go Cats!
