From Our Founding
There’s a wholesome intensity about life at Westminster--and it can be contagious. When students see faculty members work hard and conscientiously, they demand this effort of themselves. And their shared values can also help bring about a rare camaraderie and zest for living.
Dr. William L. Pressly, Founding President

FROM OUR FOUNDING in 1951 to the present day, Westminster has aspired to provide an exceptional student experience focused on the pursuit of academic and personal excellence. We strive to be an inclusive community, upholding the dignity of all people as the essential expression of our character as a Christian school. At Westminster, our students find abundant opportunities to exercise initiative and meet new challenges in a caring, supportive environment designed to foster lifelong friendships. Our campus is animated by the joy that comes from stretching beyond limitations as our students become leaders of conscience distinguished by courage, humility, and optimism.
Whom We Serve
We seek to serve intellectually motivated, curious students who bring diverse gifts to our community. Westminster students are mentored by faculty and staff eager to unlock their unique potential through innovative teaching and leadership beyond the classroom in athletics, the arts, and an array of extracurricular opportunities. Our culture is rooted in a commitment to continuous learning and exploration in the pursuit of excellence. We engage parents, alumni, trustees, the broader Atlanta community, and international partners as collaborators in creating a dynamic environment well-matched to our talented students.
Our Values
A Westminster student’s character is shaped by our School’s inclusive Christian mission. In all dimensions of our life together, Jesus’ example of love and service to others is our ideal and leads us to embrace the diverse faith traditions at our School. We meet each other and the world around us with compassion and empathy in order to instill the powerful sense of belonging we desire for everyone at Westminster. We believe that establishing high standards of integrity for our school community will foster a steadfast commitment to honor in our students. Finally, our community is at its best when we encounter new opportunities to grow with a spirit of openness and collaboration.
Our Vision
Westminster's vision is to inspire each of our students to make an enduring contribution to the world by embracing the call to leadership. We cultivate their ability to see their moral and ethical obligations while building resilience to overcome the inevitable challenges they will encounter. We equip our students with the values that give meaning to their ambition and the skills needed to bring together people of diverse and divergent perspectives. Our students' engagement as leaders at Westminster sets the stage for a lifetime of dedication to a purpose larger than themselves in a spirit of love and service. Our aspiration is that these habits of heart and mind will be the hallmark of Westminster students and alumni and expand the impact of our School in the world.
The Westminster Difference
Westminster’s founding purpose continues to shape the School today. It is lived out through three enduring commitments: academic and personal excellence, an inclusive Christian community, and the development of leaders of conscience prepared to serve Atlanta and the world.

Academic and Personal Excellence
Westminster students are encouraged to think independently, explore new ideas, and pursue meaningful work across disciplines. Guided by teachers who know them well and challenge them thoughtfully, students learn to stretch beyond limitations, pursue their best work, and develop the habits of mind, curiosity, and resilience that support a lifetime of learning.

Christian Values That Inspire A Sense Of Belonging
Our identity as a non-denominational Christian school is foundational to our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Westminster is grounded in a belief in the dignity and worth of every person. Our Christian mission shapes a community that brings together students from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and faith traditions in an environment marked by respect, belonging, and care for one another.

Leaders Of Conscience Engaged In Atlanta And The World
Westminster students learn that leadership begins with character. Through experiences across academics, athletics, the arts, student life, and service, they develop the confidence, judgment, and compassion to use their gifts in service to others. Guided by a sense of purpose and responsibility, they are prepared to become leaders of conscience who make a meaningful difference in Atlanta and throughout the world.
