The first issue of GQ under the direction of Will Welch '99 hit newsstands this month.
"The Music Issue" of the iconic men's magazine features Frank Ocean on the cover in a floral turtleneck, which is a marked departure from the magazine’s usually more conservative styling.
Will became the publication's editor-in-chief in December and is just the fifth editor-in-chief in the history of the magazine. He will oversee changes to GQ's service journalism, style guides, website, and social media. It's a move that some of the fashion industry's biggest names are optimistic about.
"Will is a great journalist with a keen sense of style and sure eye for spotting talent in the worlds of fashion and culture," Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour told GQ.
