Ed Helms '92 is the star of Disneynature's newest film "Penguins," but you'll never see him on the screen.
That's because Ed both narrates the film and voices one of the movie's featured real-life penguins, Steve.
The movie is a coming-of-age story about an Adélie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. The movie opens in theaters Wednesday, April 17, five days before Earth Day.
Initial reviews of the film say Ed "finds a brilliant balance between his penguin protagonist’s wistful, childlike naïveté and the burgeoning bluster and machismo necessary for survival"1 and his "narration is its own special effect."2
