Netflix will release Diana: The Musical on Friday, weeks ahead of its Broadway debut.
Viewers will be able to watch Roe Hartrampf '05 star as Prince Charles in the musical based on the life of the late Princess of Wales. The movie musical will premiere October 1 on the streaming platform.
The musical is directed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Ashley, who previously directed Come From Away. The script, music, and lyrics were penned by the Tony Award-winning writers behind Memphis, Joe DiPietro and David Bryan.
The show ran at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego in 2019 and was scheduled to begin performances in March 2020 at New York’s Longacre Theatre until the pandemic shut down all Broadway theaters. Diana will resume live performances on November 2 with an official opening on November 17.
