Westminster's boys and girls cross country teams claimed the Class 3A state titles on Saturday, November 3.
The boys team repeated as state champions, claiming the program's 27th state title. The team—coached by Joe Tribble—was led by three top-ten finishers: Will Wallace '19, Zachary Roe '20, and Peter Huff '19. The Cats had an average course time of 17:02.11 and finished with 45 points, more than 40 points ahead of runner-up Lovett.
The girls cross country squad clinched its fifth straight state title and 31st overall. It is the team's 23rd state title under the guidance of head coach Amy Eubanks.
The Sisterhood had four runners—Naima Turbes '19, Janie Cooper '22, Katherine Vuckovic '20, and Olivia Tordella '20—in the top ten. All seven runners were in the top 35. Naima finished with a time of 19:01.96, nearly a full minute ahead of the second-place runner. With an average course time of 20:43, the Cats finished with 49 points, ten points ahead of runner-up Lovett.
