United Soccer Coaches named Scott Snyder, varsity boys soccer head coach, the National Coach of the Year.
United Soccer Coaches, a national association of youth, high school, collegiate, and professional coaches, selected Scott as the private and parochial high school boys soccer coach of the year. Last month, the organization announced Scott was the southern regional coach of the year.
Scott, who also teaches Middle School U.S. history, has coached soccer for 28 years, 20 of which have been at Westminster. Since 1998, the varsity boys soccer program has won eight Georgia High School Association state championships.
Scott will be recognized at the United Soccer Coaches convention in Chicago in January. Charlie Ham '19, who was previously named State Player of the Year and an All-American, will also be recognized at the event.
United Soccer Coaches is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game.
