The United Soccer Coaches named Scott Snyder, varsity boys soccer head coach, the South Region Coach of the Year.
The organization honors one coach from the seven states that comprise the region of Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Scott has coached soccer for 26 years, including the last 20 seasons at Westminster. Since 1998, the varsity boys soccer program has won eight GHSA state championships.
Scott is now eligible for the National Coach of the Year award, which will be presented at the United Soccer Coaches convention in Chicago in January. Charlie Ham '19, who was previously named State Player of the Year and an All-American, will also be recognized at the event.
United Soccer Coaches—formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America—is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game.
