Lacrosse captain David Vroon '18 was honored with the most valuable player award at the AJO4LAX Fest held at Pope High School on Saturday, March 24.
The Wildcats defeated Walton High School 11-6 in the first game of the day. In the game, David has four goals and two assists.
AJO4LAX is a non-profit organization that advocates for good teen choices through fundraising efforts tied to the promotion of youth and high school lacrosse programs in Georgia.
Proceeds help fund scholarships established to honor the memory of Andrew Oswald, a Pope High School varsity attackman who died in a car accident in 2005. The annual AJO4LAXFest takes its name from combining Andrew’s initials, the #4 game jersey he wore, and his passion for lacrosse.
Last year, the organization awarded its 19th and 20th college scholarships to metro Atlanta students who continued playing the sport at the college level.
