For the 21st time, Westminster has won the Regions Bank AAA Director’s Cup given annually by the Georgia Athletic Directors Association (GADA).
The award comes after a school year that saw the Wildcats win 10 state championships. The Director’s Cup recognizes "those athletic departments in all Georgia High School Association classifications who have excelled and shown superior performance” throughout all three seasons. The accolade has been awarded for 22 years.
Westminster finished with 1,484 points in the final standings, more than 200 points ahead of runner-up Greater Atlanta Christian. Westminster also had more overall points than any school across all GHSA classifications. The Wildcats won the separate boys and girls cups, which are awarded to schools for excellence in programming for a specific gender.
The Cats finished with 726 points in the boys standings after winning state titles in cross country, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and golf. The Wildcats had state playoff runs in lacrosse and soccer. The School has earned the GADA boys cup in each of the 19 years that the single-gender titles have been awarded.
On the girls side, Westminster finished with 758 points. The Wildcats won five GHSA girls state titles during the 2020-21 school year: cross country, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and soccer. The Cats had state playoff appearances in basketball, gymnastics, golf, lacrosse, and volleyball. This is the 13th time since 2003 that Westminster has won the GADA girls cup.
