Seniors Anup Bottu and Claire Chen have been named Westminster's STAR Students for 2020.
Each student can select a teacher to recognize and both students chose Upper School history teacher Laura Drewicz Ewing as their STAR teacher.
The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program—celebrating its 62nd year—honors Georgia's highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date of the SAT and be in the top 10 percent, or top 10 students, of their class based on GPA.
The program is sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Education. STAR has recognized nearly 27,500 high school seniors who have in turn chosen their STAR Teachers to share in this recognition.
