Seniors Yash Kadadi, Matthew Spillman, and Anand Srinivasan have been named Westminster's STAR Students for 2021.

Each student can select a teacher to recognize and Yash chose Tim Shabanowitz, director of the Middle School's Goizueta Innovation Lab, while Matthew and Anand both chose Upper School math teacher Neema Salimi.

The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program—celebrating its 63rd year—honors Georgia's highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date of the SAT and be in the top 10 percent, or top 10 students, of their class based on GPA.

The program is sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Education. STAR has recognized nearly 27,500 high school seniors who have in turn chosen their STAR Teachers to share in this recognition.
