Five Upper School students were honored with national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards:
- Eva Batelaan '19 (silver medal)
- Cyan D'Anjou '18 (gold medal)
- Ananya Ganesh '20 (silver medal)
- Meimei Xu '20 (gold medal)
- Albert Zhang '18 (silver medal)
Their visual and literary works will be on display for the public June 1-10 in the Art.Write.Now.2018 National Exhibition. The exhibition will be held at the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at Parsons School of Design at The New School, and Pratt Institute’s Pratt Manhattan Gallery in New York City.
Recipients of a National Medal will also be honored at a June 7 ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. For this award year, students submitted a record-breaking 346,000 works of art and writing in 29 categories. Approximately 90,000 works are recognized at the regional level before being judged nationally by a panel of creative-industry experts to receive National Medals.
