Four Upper School students are the recipients of national Scholastic Art & Writing awards.
Jessica Lao '19 and Meimei Xu '20 were honored with gold medals and Elizabeth Rothschild '19 and Sarah Lao '21 received silver awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. For this award year, students submitted more than 350,000 works of art and writing in 29 categories. Approximately 90,000 works are recognized at the regional level.
Earlier this year, nine Upper School students received 13 Gold Key Awards at the regional level. Those pieces were then judged nationally by a panel of creative-industry experts to receive the national medals. The approximately 3,500 national medalists will be recognized at a ceremony in New York City this summer.
