Junior Mikaela Sanders has been selected to participate in a six-week summer program in China.
Mikaela, who is currently taking AP Chinese, is one just 40 students nationwide to receive the highly-competitive scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to study in China.
Each year, the Department of State chooses students to participate in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth Program at Nanjing University. The program immerses students in the language and culture of the host country through formal and informal education and daily interaction with host country families and communities.
