The Gates Scholarship Foundation named Bryson Rorie '18 a 2018 Gates Scholar.
Bryson is one of just 300 students to receive the recognition. Scholars were chosen from nearly 29,000 applicants.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched the program in 2017 to help students realize their maximum potential. The prestigious all-expenses-paid scholarship allows students to focus on their coursework while continuing to be leaders in their communities.
In addition, the Gates Scholarship engages with scholars and their institutions to ensure they have access to the resources and services they need from the first day of classes through graduation and the transition to their chosen careers.
Bryson is an AP Scholar with Honor and is a member of the band, track and field team, Spanish Honor Council, and entrepreneurship club. He plans to study neuroscience at Vanderbilt University this fall.
