Ridings Bald '10 recently competed at the Washington University in St. Louis Chemistry Tournament.
More than 50 schools and 300 students from across the country participated in the tournament on April 7. In the individual round, Ridings placed 13th. In the team round, Ridings and five students from various schools placed fifth. His two-person team also placed fifth in the Environmental Chemistry competition. Ridings' team finished fourth overall in the Director's Award round.
Separately, Ridings also qualified for the National Olympiad Chemistry exam after taking the state-level exam. Of more than 850 students in Georgia who took the exam, only 13 students qualified to advance to the national exam and Ridings had the highest score of all participants.
