Anna Bradford '20 has been selected to participate in a six-week summer program in China.
Anna, who is currently taking AP Chinese Language and Culture, is one just 40 students nationwide to receive a highly-competitive scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to participate in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth Program at Nanjing University.
The program immerses students in the language and culture of the host country through formal and informal education and daily interaction with host country families and communities. It is designed to increase the number of young Americans with the language skills necessary to advance international dialogue, compete effectively in the global economy, and help increase understanding across cultures.
Anna is the third Westminster student in the last eight years to receive a scholarship to study in China.
