Students Named Winners in 2021 YoungArts Competition

Two Upper School students were recently named winners in the 2021 YoungArts Foundation competition.

Hana Hafeez '23 and Alexa Wells '22 are among 659 of the most accomplished young visual, literary, and performing artists from across the country.

Hana was honored in the popular voice category while Alexa was honored in the design arts category. YoungArts award winners are chosen for their caliber of artistic achievement by esteemed discipline-specific panels of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process.

Established in 1981, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) identifies the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts, and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities throughout their careers. Previous YoungArts award winners include Terence Blanchard, Viola Davis, Josh Groban, Judith Hill, Tarell Alvin McCraney, and Andrew Rannells.
