Three Upper School students are the recipients of six national Scholastic Art & Writing awards.
Meimei Xu '20 was honored with two gold medals and one silver medal, Sarah Lao '21 received one gold and one silver, and Max Graves '20 received a silver medal with distinction.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. For this award year, students submitted nearly 320,000 works of art and writing in 29 categories. Approximately 90,000 works were recognized at the regional level. Of those, only 2,900 works of art receive national medals.
Earlier this year, seven Upper School students received 15 Gold Key Awards at the regional level. Those pieces were then judged nationally by a panel of creative-industry experts to receive the national medals. National medalists will be recognized at a ceremony in New York City this summer.
