WiredCats Earn Berth at International Robotics Championship

Westminster's Upper School robotics team will head to the FIRST Robotics International Championship after winning the state title Saturday.

The WiredCats, in an alliance with teams from Grady High School in Atlanta and Aiken High School in South Carolina, clinched the state title at the Georgia FIRST Robotics Peachtree State Championship held at the University of Georgia's Stegeman Coliseum.

The team also received the Judges Award at the competition. The honor is given to a team if, during the course of the competition, the panel of judges decides a team’s unique efforts, performance, or dynamics merit recognition.

The WiredCats will now prepare for the international competition, scheduled to take place April 18-21 at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center.
