A Note from the Class Reunion Committee
Friends, Wildcats, Classmates,
Lend me your ears. Open your hearts, and allow my words to play upon them like a Melissa Mack harp solo. How long has it been since we turned those tassels… would you believe it’s been 12,932,483 minutes? Those minutes have been filled with bar exams, boardroom meetings, testing Navy fighter jets, building a Panamanian village, and playing Monopoly Go.
Now far be it from me to presume, but is it possible, when nostalgia struck and your mind drove its way to Memory Lane, that you spent just a few of those minutes thinking about those Wildcat days? (Our Wildcat days!) Days when Catesby Perrin strutted the stage of Kellett Theatre, Brad Bays ruled the gridiron of Frank Orr Field, and Jordan Thomas broke every curve no matter the subject! I put it to you, did not we all wish to be part of P5 or Phamily? Perhaps in some small way, we all were. Is there a man or woman among us whose heart does not ache for one more Kadee Sands Halloween party? Whose soul does not long for one more Elizabeth Tyson New Year's Eve soiree? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind hearing another Blair Boyd arpeggio or witnessing Liz Strickler get one more yellow card.
We went through a lot together. We were together when Joey chose Pacey over Dawson, and during the Bartlett assassination attempt. We were sophomores when Monica and Chandler got together. Much like the series regulars on “Lost”, we too must return to the Island. Yes… time has passed and we as people have changed, but sometimes to move forward, you must go backwards. To better understand the present, you must revisit the past. What am I talking about? I think the only way for you to fully understand it is to join us. The younger you is beckoning. Will you answer the call?
P.S.: There are so many things this class has accomplished—I couldn't possibly hope to summarize them all here. We look forward to reminiscing in the coming months, and then getting together for Reunion Weekend to celebrate each one of us as individuals and the Class of 2000 as a whole.
