A Note from the Class Reunion Committee

Two decades. Twenty years since Alexander “Buddy” Gray boldly referred to Julia Bailey as “Baberaham Lincoln” in front of hundreds in Pressley Hall during his commencement address. Can you believe it?

2006 was, scientifically speaking, peak chaos. A stingray took down the seemingly unassailable Steve Irwin, Taylor Swift debuted with her self-titled country album, Casino Royale and Borat blew up the box office, and T.I. and Natasha Bedingfield dominated our iPods. We survived on campus center Dr. Peppers and Nerd Ropes, leaving your car in the West Paces parking lot for days on end didn’t result in a parking boot, and Hastings Hunt and Brooks Horton were dating. Wow, what a time to be alive! But perhaps most significant to each of us was graduating from Westminster and moving on to the promises of college and (far) less parental supervision.

So much has changed since then—I'm willing to bet you'd agree Taylor Swift's latest song, “Wood”, is a far cry from her country roots! Safe to assume we've all changed somewhat, too.

We're practically 40 now. Our high school reunions used to be about seeing who got hot and who got rich. Now it's a desperate race to see who can get to the bathroom first. If you still have perfect bladder control, I assume you haven't had kids, or beer, since 2006.

Even though reunions are a minefield of social anxiety we're celebrating the Class of 2006 anyway! Stop pretending you're busy, and come join us for some fun!
