A Note from the Class Reunion Committee

To the Spirited Class of ’76:

SAVE THE DATE!   50TH REUNION APRIL 23 – 26, 2026

Even though the mirror tells you it can’t be true, next April the Class of ’76 will celebrate 50 years since we walked across the stage in Pressly Hall in our caps and gowns! So dust off that Lynx, find that cheerleading outfit, and pull out your old “Oklahoma” record to start digging up all those great memories. (Well, mostly great – those were our teenage years, after all!)

Since we had to cancel our 45th Reunion (BOO COVID!), we are planning to extend the weekend beyond the usual Friday and Saturday events. We’ll start the weekend with a dinner for classmates and spouses/partners Thursday followed by full days on Friday and Saturday. We’ll wrap up Sunday with a relaxing brunch. We are including large events for us all to gather together, as well as open times where you can reconnect with your close friends and classmates from various activities. .

So... whether you spent time:

  • Reading Shakespeare with Mr. Lauderdale or reciting poetry with Mrs. Cleghorn;
  • Emoting with Durwood Fincher or enunciating with Frank Boggs;
  • Building Mardi Gras floats or building computer programs;
  • Writing about the latest news for the Bi-Line or your innermost thoughts for the Embryo;
  • Running with Mr. Koshewa or away from Frau Flaschka;
  • Hanging out with Gladys in the hut or with your friends in the woods;
  • Working in the lab with Mr. Patton or in the lab with Dr. McDonough
  • Sitting in the dorm or on the front steps of Pressly Hall;

We share these wonderful memories together and hope you will come back to celebrate those special years! Whether you walked across that stage or not in May of 1976, you are an important member of the Spirit of ’76! We want to see you in April!

50th Reunion Gift

In addition to coming together this spring to celebrate this milestone year, we hope you will support your class gift in honor of your Reunion. Gifts of all sizes to the Spirit of '76 Scholarship Fund and/or The Westminster Fund are meaningful and have a direct impact on both the student and faculty experience.

"The brightest minds aren't necessarily in wealthy homes. They exist throughout the community, and Westminster is obligated to seek them out and give them its unique intellectual challenge."

-Dr. William Pressly
