A Note from the Class Reunion Committee
Dear Class of 1980,
It seems like just yesterday we were all writing college entrance essays, sizing graduation gowns, taking our finals, and making plans for the next four (-ish) years of our lives. But even as we were focused on the future there was still a lot of reminiscing about the previous four years and the shared experiences we had. And our class still retains the distinctive honor of being the only class to graduate in the gym!
A lot of time has passed since graduation, but I’m constantly hearing from classmates that we have managed to remain particularly closely connected in a way that is unique. We all have many memories of favorite teachers, Mardi Gras, Collier Park, Friday night football games, musical and theatrical performances, and fried chicken dinners in the dining hall, but we’ve also been fortunate enough to make new many memories with our classmates over the years that have brought us even closer together.
The Class of ’80 Reunion Committee has already begun the planning process to ensure a fun-filled weekend for our 45th reunion so we can create new memories. Given that we unfortunately missed our 40th reunion due to the pandemic, we are hoping to create enough fun and community for two reunions! We hope that every one of you will join us April 25th-26th to reconnect with one another, reminisce about old times, and strengthen old and forge new friendships. The Reunion Committee is still looking for people to help in the planning process, so feel free to reach out if you would like to be a part of the team. Please block out April 25th-26th in your calendars and start making plans now to be a part of something very special!
