The Wildcat Way...

Learning to love a challenge, mentally and physically.

Athletics is an integral part of Westminster’s mission to educate the whole person. We challenge our student-athletes to become leaders, not only in the classroom, but also on the field, in the pool, and on the court. Their passion, commitment, and self-discipline produce outstanding team and personal achievements that they will carry with them in college and throughout their adult lives.

The Wildcat Way

The purpose of the Westminster athletic program—regardless of age level—is to develop healthy lifestyles and recreational skills and to teach committment, self-discipline, self-sacrifice, sportsmanship, cooperation, citizenship, loyalty, and priDe in one's self and school community.

In their own words

custom class: quotation-slide

I have the opportunity to lead, to prepare, and to challenge the minds of our student athletes to be champions off the field, just as much as I do, to be champions on the field. The lessons learned on our field of play fall well beyond the scope of the game.

Brent McGuire, Head Varsity Softball Coach

Cats in College

In the last ten years, more than 200 Wildcat student-athletes have continued their athletic careers at the next level. In 2019, 32 students signed letters of intent to play their respective sports at the college level.

Notable alumni include Harrison Butker '13, who was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, Will Benson '16, who was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2016, and Stanford University swimmer and Honda Inspiration Award-recipient Nicole Stafford '13.
