Take advantage of Westminster's Summer School
Westminster engages bright, curious, motivated students who are nurtured by challenge. Summer School gives these students the ability to design their learning path by offering academic courses that complement their educational experience during the school year. Students enjoy a personalized learning environment with outstanding faculty. Summer School courses, unless otherwise indicated, are open to Westminster and non-Westminster students who seek to extend their learning beyond the school year. Please feel free to reach out to us with questions. We hope to see you on campus next summer!
Summer School Director
Summer School is a deep dive into one course, either a new class that is only available during the summer, or a course that fulfills a graduation requirement. Students may choose to attend Summer School to:
- Pursue a passion or explore a new area of interest
- Transition smoothly into upper school
- Create a more balanced schedule during the school year (for artists, athletes, AP students, students who take multiple electives, etc.)
- Strengthen academic skills
- Experience the Atlanta community and beyond
2020 course information is available here. We offer several classes that take advantage of the freedom that the summer schedule affords to leave campus and explore the many opportunities that Atlanta and the surrounding areas have to offer. And if all that weren’t enough, there are ice cream treats every week!
Dates for Summer School 2020 are:
- Session 1, June 1-19
- Session 2, June 22 - July 10
- Additional Courses offered July 28-30
Courses are open to Westminster and non-Westminster students. Westminster entrance requirements are waived. Westminster families should log in to Wildcat Web to access information related to Summer School.
Registration for Summer School will begin in March 2020 and is available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and full payment is due upon registration. Non-Westminster students in the Upper School summer program should consult their school registrars to determine if they may qualify for credit in select courses.
By choosing to take a Summer School course, rising sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students can:
- Pursue a passion
- Strengthen skills
- Transition smoothly into middle school, both academically and socially
Dates for Summer School 2020 are June 1-26. Many Summer School courses are open to Westminster and non-Westminster students. We offer one-week, two-week, and four-week options. Several of these options can be combined so that students may enroll in more than one course. 2020 course information will be available online on or before January 2020, but you can view the list of the 2019 Middle School courses here. Middle School courses offer enrichment opportunities rather than credit.
Online registration begins April 2020 and is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Full payment is due upon registration.

"My son went on several field trips that might not have been possible throughout the school year. They were excellent. It really made what he read become more relatable."
